Jobs, Internships, and Volunteering
Interns and Volunteers
AIDA is always seeking dedicated people to serve as volunteers and interns. Positions are potentially available in: Oakland, CA; Mexico City; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Bogota, Colombia. Past interns and volunteers have included law students, attorneys, graduate and undergraduate students in various disciplines, retirees, scientists, and professionals making career transitions. Knowledge of intermediate Spanish and English is required.
At AIDA, volunteers and interns receive exposure to international environmental work and the non-profit legal community in different countries in the Americas. AIDA will try to accommodate each volunteer's individual skills and interests, by selecting appropriate projects that could involve legal work, writing, research, design, web development, or data analysis, depending on the qualifications of the applicant. Some administrative tasks may be required.
Mid-year internships require a minimum of 10 hr/week commitment for at least three months during the school year. Our summer internship program requires a full-time commitment (40 hr/week) for a minimum of ten weeks during the summer. All internships are unpaid.
Volunteers can work from our offices or elsewhere and should be willing to commit on average three hours per week.
To apply, please send a cover letter, resume and the names of 2-3 references to pasantes@aida-americas.org
Law students or attorneys should also submit a brief writing sample (5-7pg) in either English or Spanish.
